Why Crafting is important to us

Crafting is an important part of Ladies Lounge and the Crafting table is set up during every session. We have found that women enjoy learning new skills, the creativity takes their minds away from their struggles and reduces stress and anxiety.

Here are some examples of recent projects our ladies have completed.

Easyfundraising: help us so we can help others

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Torbay Ladies’ Lounge with easyfundraising?

There are over 6,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.

All you need to do is:

  1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/torbay-ladies-lounge/?utm_campaign=raise-more and join for free.
  2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
  3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Torbay Ladies’ Lounge at no extra cost to you whatsoever!

There are no catches or hidden charges and Torbay Ladies’ Lounge will be really grateful for your donations.

Thank you for your support.

Welcome Back Ros!

Last Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome back the founder and leader of Ladies Lounge, Ros, who had been shielding for the past few months. Judging from her smile she was delighted to see all those familiar faces … and some new ones too!

Flight of Light project

Our ladies have been busy at the Craft Table this week! They’re contributing to the FLIGHT OF LIGHT Art installation project to be featured at St Mags Church, Upton, Torquay from 28th June 2021. Inspired by the stunning stained glass windows in the church, the aim is to create 1000 butterflies which will fly down from the Rose window. Here is an example of the Stained Glass effect some of our guests have created with tissue paper.
